Leased line internet fAQS
Fibre Broadband aka FTTC only goes up to a maximum of 76Mbps which can be even lower if there are lots of businesses sharing the internet connection at the green cabinet. Also, if there is a fault or outage with your broadband you can be waiting up to 2 working days for a resolution whereas our Dedicated Leased Lines have a contracted resolution time within 4 working hours.
Within theory there is no better provider as all of our Leased Lines regardless of the ISP come with the same dedicated speeds, 24/7/365 monitoring and SLA. However, the likes of Virgin Media cover up to £10,000 of any extra construction charges (ECC’s) that may be required to install your Leased Line whereas the rest of the ISP’s will only cover up to £2800. Also, sometimes certain providers can be more competitive in certain parts of the country.
On average, Leased Lines take around 45-60 working days to be installed as there needs to be a site survey done first to assess the best installation routes, sort out any way leave agreements with Landlords and identify any potential hazards such as Asbestos. After the installation routes, potential hazards, have been confirmed and anything legal has been signed off, your installation will be booked as soon as possible.
